The reason I chose Xichen's object is that his hand-drawn pieces resonate with me. When I first started getting into art, I would often secretly doodle in textbooks or notebooks. However, I haven't touched pen and paper in years now, as all my creative work is done on electronic devices. The reason is simpleāit's easier to make modifications and achieve diverse artistic effects digitally. But the feeling of creating something tangible with traditional tools is undoubtedly different from working on an electronic medium. So, in response to that, I created a piece using pencils and ink pens on paper.

This proposal aims to showcase my artistic plan for character design and illustration related to the video game "Darkest Dungeon." I will be utilizing digital painting as the medium to depict the unique character images and captivating scenes from the game.
Project Description:
"Darkest Dungeon" is an acclaimed dark adventure video game known for its distinctive character designs and illustration style. My proposal focuses on reimagining and creating the character images from the game through digital painting, injecting them with personal style and techniques.
Character Design and Illustration:
I will dedicate my efforts to the character design and illustration featured in the game. By delving into each character's background story, traits, and personality, I aim to capture their emotions, atmosphere, and complexities. My goal is to create convincing and expressive depictions for each character, making them vivid and story-driven.
Digital painting will be my primary medium for this project. Through in-depth research and study of the game, I will employ digital painting techniques to bring the character images and scenes to life. Digital painting allows me to utilize various tools and effects to achieve intricate lines, rich colors, and depth. Additionally, it provides convenient editing and revision capabilities, enabling me to explore and realize my artistic vision effectively.

Phase 3: Digital painting and rendering, using graphic software to create character designs and illustrations.
Phase 4: Feedback and refinement, making necessary adjustments and improvements based on evaluations and feedback.
Finalization: Organizing and showcasing, preparing the character designs and illustrations for display and presentation.
Research
This is a "penitent" character who is seeking redemption within a religious context. His role is somewhat similar to an ascetic(or flagellant), but his penance is not driven by genuine inner spiritual practice. As a result, his expression is one of agony and suffering.He bears numerous inscriptions of religious doctrines and scriptures all over his body. Additionally, there is a branding mark that represents his sins. He wields a massive hammer weapon that is also engraved with scriptures, bound to him by a chain. This weapon serves both as a tool of combat and as an instrument of punishment. The weight of the stone hammer slows him down, affecting his speed.
